Saturday, June 1 @ 8 a.m. (Note: Summer Time Change)
On Saturday, June 1, we will meet at VMAC-Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center. VMAC is located on 136th Avenue across the street from Horizon High School. Parking is available at VMAC. This will be a loop course and the route can be 2-5.3 miles (and could add 1.3 miles by adding an additional lap around Trail Winds Park), whatever feels good to you. We will view the progress at Trail Winds Recreation Center and explore Springvale Park and follow a portion of the Horizon Tributary Trail that will take us to 128th and back to Trail Winds Park. We will depart promptly at 8 a.m. so please don't be late. Please remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. If you are interested in participating in the program but can't come on June 1, please make sure that we have your email address and we will keep you apprised of the dates, locations and distances for upcoming walks. Please send those inquiries to Discover@cityofthornton.net. The next walk will be held on July 13, 2019.
This is a monthly fitness program designed to help you develop or maintain a consistent fitness program. City of Thornton Recreation Staff will lead the walk each month. These treks will be of varying distances and will explore the many different trails around the community. Come alone or bring your spouse, your neighbors, your children and/or your dog. This is an opportunity to pursue your fitness goals, meet some new people and enjoy the trails of Thornton. These walks are free and open to anyone who can physically complete the distance. These are "no frills" events, so bring what you will need (water bottle, pet pick-up bags, etc.) for the duration of each month's walk.
