Discover Thornton Community Walks

June 24

TAKE A WALK!

Carpenter Receation Center

On Saturday, June 24, we will meet in front of the Carpenter Recreation Center, which is located at 11151 Colorado Blvd.  From there we will head west for a big loop that comes "oh so close" to EB Rains Park in Northglenn, and then we will head south and then back around to Carpenter Park.  If you go the full route it will be about 6 miles, but of course you can turn around and return to the starting point whenever you want.  Due to the summer heat, we will depart promptly at 8 a.m. during the summer months, so please don't be late.  This trail is paved and primarily flat.  Please remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.  If you are interested in participating in our community walks but can't come on June 24,  please make sure we have your e-mail address and we will keep you apprised of the dates, locations and distances for upcoming walks.  Please send those inquiries to Discover@cityofthornton.net.   The July event will be held on Saturday, July 22.

This is a monthly fitness program designed to help you develop or maintain a consistent fitness program. City of Thornton Recreation Staff will lead the walk each month. These treks will be of varying distances and will explore the many different trails around the community. Come alone or bring your spouse, your neighbors, your children and/or your dog. This is an opportunity to pursue your fitness goals, meet some new people and enjoy the trails of Thornton. These walks are free and open to anyone who can physically complete the distance. These are “no frills” events, so bring what you will need (water bottle, pet pick-up bags, etc.) for the duration of each month’s walk.
