Affordable Rentals and Emergency Housing Information
The term "affordable" is defined by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development as housing in which households pay no more than 30% of their total annual gross income on rent, water, electric and gas expenses. In the list on the right hand side of this page, you will find information on affordable housing locations in Thornton, as well as emergency rent and utility assistance programs. Links to individual apartment websites are provided on the bottom right hand side of the page.
The Adams County Housing Authority (ACHA) manages subsidized apartments in Thornton and throughout the county. The agency also manages the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program, which is funded by the federal government to assist low-income individuals and families afford safe and sanitary housing. Thornton Multifamily Community Managers
The Multifamily Community Managers Meetings are a collaborative effort between the City of Thornton Police Department and Fire Department, the Neighborhood Services Division and the apartment, manufactured home park, and HOA managers in Thornton. The purpose of these regular meetings is to discuss topics that are important to managing multifamily properties in Thornton.
