​U.S. Passports

The City Clerk’s Office is a U.S. Department of State designated Passport Application Acceptance Facility. U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for passports at the office, located at City Hall, 9500 Civic Center Drive, Second Floor. Appointments are not necessary. Our office hours are as follows:

Passport hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

The office will not be open to accept passport applications on the following holidays:

New Year's Day, January 1*

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, third Monday in January

Memorial Day, last Monday in May

Independence Day, July 4*

Labor Day, first Monday in September

Veterans Day, November 11*

Thanksgiving Holiday, fourth Thursday and Friday in November

Christmas Day, December 25*

*Holidays falling on a Sunday are observed on the following Monday, and holidays falling on a Saturday are observed on the preceding Friday.

 

Everyone applying for a passport must appear in person, including infants and children.

Fees & Forms of Payment

If a passport and passport card are ordered at the same time, the City charges only one $25 execution fee. Payments to the U.S. Department of State must be paid with a check or money order. Payments to the City can be made with cash, check, or money order. Temporary checks are not accepted.

Normal processing time for a passport application is four to six weeks. The U.S. Department of State recommends that customers expedite their applications if traveling in less than 10 weeks. Expedited processing costs $60 per application, payable to the Department of State. Customers requesting expedited service should receive their passport within two to four weeks.

    U.S. Passport Card - The U.S. passport card can only be used at land and sea ports-of-entry when entering the U.S. from Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. A U.S. passport card can NOT be used for international air travel.
