Why are you the most qualified person for this office?

I have had the privilege of accompanying my councilman for the last 8 years and it has given me much insight into the workings of our city. Also, by going to Thornton city events, Community and Ward meetings, and State and National conferences. I have had the opportunity to be involved and learned the ins and outs of city policy making and understanding how city council works with other cities.

What is the most important issue facing Thornton and how would you propose addressing it?

Affordable Housing – By working with the newly created affordable Housing Task Force to find ways by investigating the reasons that contribute to the cost of housing. We should create a balance of housing throughout the city that is affordable and attainable for citizens with all income levels. We need to look at the zoning in certain areas of the city to accomplish a true program of affordable housing.

What do you think the city does well and where do you see room for improvement?

Economic Development – Economic Development is moving forward in the right direction by creating good paying primary jobs and by attracting companies like Amazon and Simon's Outlet Stores. -  Code Enforcement needs to be expanded and more employees need to be hired so there is enough manpower to do the job of cleaning up our city – especially in Ward One.

What is your favorite thing about living in Thornton?

Great parks, the diversity of our citizens, and great city events. People come from all over the metro area to participate in our city events.
