Why are you the most qualified person for this office?
As a mom, teacher and long time resident of Thornton, I care deeply about the people living here and the future of our city. I am passionate about serving our community, which is why I have spent so much of my time volunteering for organizations that directly impact those who most need our help. As your next City Councilmember, I will continue working alongside others to find solutions and create opportunities that will keep our city going strong for years to come.
What is the most important issue facing Thornton and how would you propose addressing it?
I believe growth is one of the most important issues in Thornton. We are currently the 6th largest city in Colorado, and more people are moving here each day. It is vital that we build lasting relationships and work together to find solutions that work for us. As your next Thornton City Councilmember I look forward to working with you to preserve all that is great about our city and make it an even better place to live, work, and raise a family!
What do you think the city does well and where do you see room for improvement?
Our city has done a great job bringing communities together through volunteer opportunities, festivals, arts & culture, senior hub, etc., I'd like see more opportunities open up for partnerships to be made throughout our city, so that we have stronger relationships and a better sense of what we need to do to ensure Thornton is moving in the right direction.
What is your favorite thing about living in Thornton?
There are many things I love about living in Thornton, but one of my favorite things is the large number of trails and open space areas where I know that on any given day, while out walking or riding my bike, I'm going to see some really great wildlife. It could be an eagle, a turtle, a snake, or even a turkey spreading its feathers!
