2017 Council Candidate - Ward 2
Occupation: Newly Retired
Previous Elected Offices: None
Other Leadership Positions and Community Involvement: My leadership positions have been with CCVMS Office Managers
Association. Exempla Lutheran Medical Center Advisory Board-Office managers forum. My community involvement is visiting the
Thornton Senior Center and speaking to seniors about their concerns, needs, and listening to their life stories. We can't forget our
Seniors. I will eventually volunteer at the center when there is a opening. One of the issues I have is childhood hunger, and I will be
getting involved with the Thornton food banks to learn about what their needs, and concerns are, and eventually volunteering.
Why are you the most qualified person for this office?
Why I am the most qualified person for this office is my real life experiences, because with 40 plus years in the medical field has taught me about people's needs.
What is the most important issue facing Thornton and how would you propose addressing it?
The most important
issue facing Thornton is smart planned growth Because the city is half
built out. Now is the time for smart planning.
What do you think the city does well and where do you see room for improvement?
What I like about the city is that we are a self contained city by providing Police, Fire, trash etc. The room for improvement would be diversity of housing, and better infrastructure.
What is your favorite thing about living in Thornton?
My favorite things about Thornton is the Parks, and the Thornton Fests that are held every year.
