Due to the weather forecast, we feel it is inevitable that we will have to cancel the event.
This was not an easy decision to make – but we decided this morning that we want to preserve the goodwill of our sponsors and vendors – so we are calling it today, instead of waiting for tomorrow morning. 

    • Three events will still be taking place, although their venues have changed:

      • Thornton's Got Talent – Multipurpose rooms at the Carpenter Recreation Center, Saturday, 12:30-4 p.m.

      • Dock Dogs Competition – Parking lot south of the Carpenter Park Fields, west end, Sat. & Sun.

      • Disc Dogs Competition – Will be moved to Woodglen/Brookshire Park, 11730 St. Paul St.), Saturday will be 'weather permitting' & Sunday is a for-sure. For the most updated info

NEW! Art 4<$100

An amazing art sale hosted by TASHCO and Thornton Arts & Culture. Stop by Carpenter Park, just west of the tennis courts between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. where 35 artists will be selling their original artwork for $100 or less!

Arbor Day Tent

Thornton Forestry staff hosts this educational venue. Staff will be on-hand to discuss any horticulture questions you may have concerning your residential landscapes. There will also be information on the Emerald Ash Bore. Displays and handouts will be available dealing with a wide-variety of topics.

Our search for Thornton's most talented people began in November 2017 and the final round of this brand new talent competition ends here at the Carpenter Park Amphitheater! come see who comes out o top!

Beer Gardens

Adults age 21 and over are invited to the east and west beer gardens located in The Marketplace, to socialize with other adults, while enjoying an ice cold beverage! Three drink limit per person and a photo I.D. is required to enter.

City Services Tent

Here, you will find representatives from various city departments to provide you with answers or guidance about your city-related questions. Booths will display information on various topics such as 55+ programs and services to police administration.

Kids Korner

little girl on a kids train rideKids Korner is the portion of Thorntonfest that is dedicated to the "kid in all of us."   There will be bungee trampolines, a climbing wall, mini-train, vendors, carnival rides and much more!

Items and activities directly related to the smallest members of our population. You will find face painting, hands-on activities and educational items. A must-see for parents and children alike!

Children's Amusements: Once again the amusements at Thorntonfest will be free of charge to everyone in attendance! So come on down and join the fun!

Youth Sports:

Here, you will find representatives from Thorncreek Golf Course and many of the community’s youth sports groups. They will have interactive activities for the children to take part in as well as to test their skills.

Thornton Fire Department's Healthy Town

Thornton Fire will be offering healthy eating tips, active wellness and life safety education to help you become a resident of Healthy Town!


The Marketplace

Business Exhibitors: A great place to familiarize yourself with many of the services and products area businesses and associations have to offer!  Here you will be able to ask questions, pick up information and make purchases, all from one convenient location.

Craft Exhibitors: Handmade items on display and available for purchase. A great opportunity to locate that unique gift!

Mile Hi Cruisers Car Show

The Mile Hi Cruisers Car Show will host a huge display of classic and custom cars for the public to enjoy. All special-interest cars are invited to take part. Paw Fest

dog catching a frisbeeThis specially-designed fair is jam-packed with pet-related information, products, veterinary care and lots of entertainment and SHOPPING! While enjoying your day at the festival, keep your pets and others safe by having your dog on a leash. Also, cats MUST BE in a well-ventilated carrier or box. Water is available in the water stations at various locations throughout Paw Fest.

AniMall: Looking for a little something for that special pet in your life? Visit the AniMall, where all the vendors carry pet-related products. Pet lovers will not want to miss this fun shopping section of Paw Fest!

National Canine Frisbee Competition:

Come watch, be amazed, laugh and cheer for these four-legged wonders as they entertain young and old alike with their precision, style and athleticism! The competition is hosted by the Colorado Disc Dogs. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the competition begins at 9 a.m.


boy holding a snakeCreature Features: Here, young and old alike can observe, learn about and often times touch different creature exhibits. Several Colorado exhibitors will be available to answer questions and help introduce you to animals you rarely have a chance to observe. Canyon Critters 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Pet Vaccination Clinic: Bring your dog or cat to this low-cost Pet Vaccination Clinic. The clinic will be open from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and from 1 - 4 p.m. The cost is $10 for a rabies shot and $10 for the distemper vaccination. Cash and Check ONLY. Driver's license required if paying by check. Staff from the Huron Animal Hospital will be donating their time for this event.

Rocky Mountain Dockdogs: Join Rocky Mountain Dockdogs as they hold Competitions in Big Air, Speed Retrieve and Extreme Vertical. You may have seen thisthis popular, family-friendly sport on TV and now's your chance to give it a gry! All dogs over six months old and handlers over seven years old are welcome to sign up. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A $30 registration fee will apply. Visit for more information.
