Senior Citizen Advisory Board
The purpose of the Senior Citizen Advisory
Board is to promote and facilitate communications between the Board and the
City Council in matters impacting the needs and interests of senior
citizens, and to better assist the City Council in being responsive and well
advised as to issues of particular relevancy to senior citizens. The Board
meets on the 3rd Wednesday in January, April and October at 1 p.m. and in
July at 4 p.m.
The Board consists of nine members one from
each ward of the city, one mayor appointee, one 55+ Organization
representative, one member of the business community and 2 members at large.
All members are approved by City Council. If you are interested in applying

55+ Organization
The 55+ Organization is a non-profit
membership based organization that operates in partnership with the Senior
Center. The 55+ organization supports the senior center by hosting programs
such as bingo and holiday parties, purchasing needed equipment and
fundraising for the center. Members pay an annual fee of $5.00 per year. The
55+ Organization has an Advisory Board consisting of 12 members who meet
monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. For more
