Discover Thornton Community Walks

TAKE A WALK!
July 7
8 a.m.

On Saturday, July 7, we will meet in the parking lot at EB Rains Park which is located in Northglenn at 11701 Community Center Drive.   To get there, take 120th to York/Community Center Drive, which is just east of I-25.  Go south on Community Center Drive, the lake will be on your left/east and the parking lot is on the south side of the lake.  This month's walk will be an out & back route along the Highline Canal Trail – the longest distance will be 6 miles, and you can go as far as feels good to you on that day.  This is a good walk to do in the summer because it has a lot of shade.  Because of the summer heat, we will depart promptly at 8 a.m. so please don't be late.  This trail is paved and is relatively flat.  Please remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.  If you are interested in participating in the program but can't come on July 7, please make sure we have your e-mail address and we will keep you apprised of the dates, locations and distances for upcoming walks.  Please send those inquiries to Discover@cityofthornton.net.   The August event will be on Saturday, August 4.

This is a monthly fitness program designed to help you develop or maintain a consistent fitness program.  City of Thornton Recreation Staff will lead the walk each month.  These treks will be of varying distances and will explore the many different trails around the community.  Come alone or bring your spouse, your neighbors, your children and/or your dog.  This is an opportunity to pursue your fitness goals, meet some new people and enjoy the trails of Thornton.  These walks are free and open to anyone who can physically complete the distance.  These are "no frills" events, so bring what you will need (water bottle, pet pick-up bags, etc.)  for the duration of each month's walk.

You have attended one of our previous community walks and provided your email address for the purpose of receiving these e-mail reminders.   If at any time you decide that you do not want to receive these e-mails any longer, please respond to this e-mail with "opt out" printed in the subject bar.
