Ages 8 and Up This relatively modern martial art was developed in Korea during the 1950s
by General Choi Hong Hi. General Choi combined the best of ancient Korean,
Japanese and Chinese martial art techniques to create a new tradition focusing
on individual discipline, self-confidence, physical fitness and self-defense.
Participants strive to better themselves through practicing these five tenets:
courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
Instructors are class "C" certified through the International and
United States Taekwon-Do Federations.
