Lesson
Registration:
Pick-A-Number
Minimize your time waiting in line for swim lesson registration. The
Recreation Division is very proud of the quality swim lesson program we
provide, but we are also aware that the registration process is often
inconvenient and involves a lengthy wait for many of you, especially at
the Carpenter Recreation Center pool. So this summer we are going to try a
different process that will hopefully minimize the inconvenience for
parents on these three RESIDENT ONLY registration dates:
Outdoor Pools: June
3 June 17 July 8
Beginning at 5:30 a.m. on each of these days, parents may stop by and
pick a number—just one number per household. And the number you pick
will be the order your registration will actually be processed when the
actual registration process begins at 7 p.m. that same evening. A couple
of things to remember:
• When you return in the evening, you MUST present your numbered tag in
order to take your place in line.
• At the time you pick your number, there will be an estimated return
time, based on your number.
But
it’s imperative that you remember that you must be present at the time
your number is called. If you arrive after your number was called, you
will have to go to the end of the line. This
"Pick-A-Number" system will only be utilized at the Recreation
Center site. If you typically conduct your registration at the Thornton
Community Center or the Thornton Senior Center, where the lines are much
shorter, the process will continue as usual. While this system requires
you to make two visits to the Carpenter Recreation Center, it won’t
require you to spend hours waiting in line.
Please
follow the link above to the main registration page for complete
information on how to register for Outdoor Pool lessons.
