TEEN TIME ADVENTURE SERIES

The Cities of Thornton, Broomfield,  Northglenn, and Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District cooperate to offer a teen adventure series for 11-to-18 year olds through Adams County R.A.P. (Recreational Alternative Programs). Register for these programs at the Carpenter Recreation Center or Thornton Community Center. Space is limited for all events so register early to ensure a spot!

Elitch Gardens
Ages 11 - 18
Kick off summer at Elitch Gardens.  Admission, parking and transportation are included in the fee.  Please bring sunscreen, a sack lunch or money for lunch.

River Rafting - Platte Park
Starting in the beautiful Platte Park near Chatfield Reservoir, you'll raft through a peaceful section of the South Platte River, which contains 90 percent of metro Denver's bird life.  Along the way you'll raft through some fun rapids and end the trip with the exhilarating rapids at Union Street Park.  Please bring sunscreen, a water bottle and a sack lunch.

Camping Trip
Ages 12 - 18
Join us as we travel to the primitive camp in Genesee.  This wilderness adventure will include two nights under the stars in tents, meals, full day of high and low ropes course, hiking (including a full moon night hike) and campfire programs.  This will be a true outdoor camping experience! Mandatory parents meeting held at the Northglenn Recreation Center (I-25 and 120th Ave) Wednesday, July 9, 6 p.m.

Horseback Riding & Swimming

We will go on a scenic horseback trail ride through Bear Creek Lake Park.  We will then go over to the reservoir for some swimming.  Please bring long pants, swimsuit, towel, water, sunscreen and a sack lunch.
