Land Acquisitions

Back to Capital Projects Page

Following are some of the acquisitions made possible from the Parks and Open Space Tax and Bond revenues.

  • 146 acres at the southwest corner of 136th and Holly for parks and open space.
  • 139 acres at the northwest corner of 136th and Quebec for parks and open space.
  • 55 acres south of 104th between Colorado and Riverdale.
  • 50 acres at 98th and Riverdale to be used as a future sports complex.
  • 9 acres at 85th and Huron to be used as a trail corridor.
  • 7 acres along the railroad between 124th and 128th for open space and a trail.
  • 5 acres near 124th and Holly to be used as open space and a trail corridor.
  • 4 acres east of Skyview High School to supplement the school’s recreation facilities.
  • 4 acres at Huron and Croke to be used as a trail corridor.
  • 1 acre at Huron and Croke to be used as a future mini park.

Total Acreage Acquired: 420

Total Cost of Acquisitions: approximately $16 million
