The City of Thornton and The Senior Hub co-host yard cleanup projects in the spring and fall to help older, disabled or ill Thornton seniors. Volunteers help the residents with household tasks that the older adults are unable to physically do themselves, such as trimming trees, raking leaves, cleaning or caulking windows. Neighborhood Services coordinates the volunteer groups and provides supplies for the project.
2017 Cleanup Dates
Saturday, October 21, 8 a.m. to noon
Saturday, October 28, 8 a.m. to noon
Volunteer groups of five or more are welcome to participate in these projects. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and there needs to be an adult present for volunteers under the age of 15. The groups will be assigned two to three houses on the morning of the project day. If your group is interested in volunteering complete an application, which can be found on the right hand side of this page, and let us know what day your group is available.
