THORNTON, CO… Winners of the city of Thornton's 2016 Business Recognition Awards were announced on April 20, at the 30th annual Business Appreciation Event held at Brittany Hill.
The awards and their recipients this year are:
Entrepreneurial Innovation Award - Sweet Caroline Confections
This award recognizes a small Thornton business that brings a unique business concept with ingenuity and determination to the Thornton community while practicing positive workplace values. Sweet Caroline Confections "customizable lollipops are sought after by local brides and international companies such as Victoria's Secret," says Thornton Real Estate & Marketing Administrator Jenny Leon. "They were also featured in Martha Stewart's Weddings magazine."
Community Spirit Award - Progresh
This award recognizes a Thornton business that demonstrates strong involvement in the community and/or who has made a significant impact on the community. Progresh is an innovative training center dedicated to ski, snowboard, skateboard, BMX and tumbling progression. "Progresh contributes to the community through internships for young people in cooperation with the Adams County Workforce and Business Center Youth Succeed Program," says Leon.
Company on the Move Award - SilverTouch Aesthetics
This award recognizes a Thornton business that demonstrates a solid success pattern and/or tremendous growth potential, expanding lines of business through innovation and improved processes. "SilverTouch Aesthetics combines multiple clinically proven methods of skin care treatments into a regimen tailored specifically to the individual," says Leon.
Retailer of the Year Award - Lisa Ann's Country Cupboard Bakery
Retailer of the Year recognizes a Thornton retail business who has shown excellent customer service, unique product/service offerings, and has improved the retail experience for consumers. "The cozy atmosphere, and friendly customer service make Lisa Ann's one of Thornton's favorites," says Leon.
Industrial/Office Company of the Year - Dynamic Metal Fabrication
This award is selected by the Thornton Office of Economic Development, and recognizes a Thornton primary business that has demonstrated growth, innovation and/or significant potential for the community. "Dynamic Metal Fabrication recently completed a new and expanded headquarter building in north Thornton," says Leon. "They have long been viewed as the premier custom metal fabrication shop in the greater Denver area."
People's Choice Award - Northside Jazzercize Fitness Center
This award is chosen by popular vote. Northside Jazzercize Fitness Center works to offer a positive, welcoming atmosphere with classes that are diverse, convenient, fun and challenging.
