THORNTON, CO… Former Thornton City Manager and Utility Director Jack Ethredge has received a prestigious honor from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
In recognition for his decades of public service to the people in Thornton and to ICMA, Marc A. Ott, Executive Director of ICMA, recently sent Mr. Ethredge a letter thanking him for his service and notifying him that the organization is bestowing Ethredge with a Lifetime Membership in the organization.
“This will allow you to stay connected to the profession you have devoted so many years to serving, and will also help you stay in contact with your professional colleagues. Additionally, we would value your continued involvement in helping ICMA serve the local government management profession as opportunities may arise,” said Ott.
“I’m very pleased by the recognition and honor ICMA has given me. I’ve always found that the resources and support provided by this organization are very effective. I’ve seen firsthand how ICMA helps people in municipal management run their governments more effectively and provide better service to the people. I thank them for this honor and hope to be able to pass some of my knowledge and experience on to some of their members in the future,” said Ethredge.
Mr. Ethredge retired from the city of Thornton on March 20, 2017. He continues to live in Thornton with his wife Jean.
