Why are you the most qualified person for this office?
I am the most qualified person for Ward 1 because I have experience working on boards and committees ranging from funding non-profits to reviewing and evaluating budgets while also working in industries with complex rules and regulations. During this time, I have learned to work in teams with strong opposing viewpoints to reach common and shared goals, all while having a flexible and equitable mindset.
What is the most important issue facing Thornton and how would you propose addressing it?
I believe the most important issue facing Thornton is affordable housing. I plan on addressing the issue by first addressing Construction Defect. Once we are able to bring back new condo and townhome development to the City, we can reduce demand by increasing supply causing pricing to lower.
What do you think the city does well and where do you see room for improvement?
One thing that I believe the city does very well is community engagement. I believe the city can improve in being equal in code enforcement and discouraging firework use while being more rigorous with enforcement.
What is your favorite thing about living in Thornton?
My favorite thing about living in Thornton has been being able to watch how much the city has changed with all the expansion that it has gone on and how it continues to expand and grow.
