Fire Operations Division

The Fire Department provides life safety services including fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire safety education, special rescue techniques, and emergency hazardous materials mitigation.

The Fire Operations division is responsible for mitigating all emergency scenes within the City of Thornton.  The basic work unit of fire operations is the engine company.  The staffing on an engine company is a minimum of three personnel – one company officer, one driver/operator, and one firefighter/paramedic.
