Monthly Car Seat Checks
If there is a quick and simple way to save your child’s life would you do it? You may be surprised to learn that the majority of children’s car seats are installed improperly, which can lead to death or injury in an auto accident.
The Car Seat Check-Up Events are designed to provide parents and caretakers with the opportunity to learn and practice how to safely install your car seat. Education and installation typically takes 30 minutes per car.

How’s Your Car Seat Safety IQ?
- Rear-facing infant or convertible
restraints should be used until a child is at least one year-old and weighs at
least 20 pounds.
- Never put an infant in the front seat of a vehicle with a
passenger air bag! Infants must ride in the back seat facing the rear of the
vehicle. This offers the best protection for your infant’s neck.
- Forward-facing convertible or
toddler restraints should be used for children over age one and
20-40 pounds.
- Belt-positioning boosters should
be used from the time a child weighs 40 pounds until the adult seat belt fits
correctly (approximately 80 pounds and 5 feet tall).
- A shoulder belt should never be
placed behind or under the arm of a child.
