​Harvest Fest Fishing Derby ~ 7-10 a.m.
Grandview Ponds ~ 4401 E. 104th Avenue

Presented by your Thornton area Grease Monkey locations! 

This event is open to children 4-12 years of age when accompanied by an adult. Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish caught in age categories that include: 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 year olds. A prize will also be awarded to the Most Authentic Fisherman! Participants must bring own fishing pole, bait and supplies. All types of bait and lures are permitted.

$1 fee to participate in the event this year.

Pancake Breakfast ~ 7:30 - 9:30​ a.m.
Thornton Active Adult Center ~ 9471 Dorothy Blvd.

The Thornton Active Adult Center will be hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for the community.  The menu will include pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice, and coffee.  Fee: $4/adults and $2.50/seniors 55 and older and children 12 and younger.

Skatepark Competition ~ 9 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

​The Thomas J. Slocum Memorial Skatepark will be filled with the thrill of competition for rollerbladers, bike riders and skateboarders!  There are three skill levels for each division.  The registration fee is $11 for residents and $13 for non-residents.  Visit the Skatepark Competition page for additional details. Registration for residents begins at 8:30 a.m. and will open to everyone beginnig at 9 a.m. A waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian. Helmets are required.

​The Great Chili Cook-Off ~ 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Benefiting Marc Jr. Foundation

The Great Chili-Cook Off will combine the warm flavors of some of the area's great chili and the warm feeling of making a charitable donation to the Marc Jr. Foundation. Public tasting is at a suggested $5 donation per person or $15 donation per family (limit 5 people). Awards presentation on the Cultural Expedition Stage at 4 p.m. To Register or for more information.

​We are going on a journey to the United Kingdom, Morocco, Portugal and France! Join us in the Cultural Expedition area for crafts, activities, song and dance from each country.

​Harvest Fest Bazaar

​The Bazaar will feature business, nonprofit and craft exhibitors.  Experience some great shopping venues provided by participating craft exhibitors, home businesses and other various vendors as well as discover an interesting array of exhibits from local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

​Chile Roaster

​Follow the wonderful aroma to our chile roaster, located next to our Chili Cook-Off tent. Here you can purchase freshly roasted chiles to take home with you.


 

​Playful City USA Play Day

​Follow the laughter and the screams of delight to the northeast end of the Community Park as it comes alive with fun and activities geared to children, including carnival inflatables, pony rides, petting zoo, face painting and walk-around entertainment! Many of the activities will be free, and others will involve a small charge.


 

​Food Court

​Leave your picnic basket at home and enjoy the full festival experience by partaking in the unique assortment of menu items provided by our food vendors. With a variety of food available, from hotdogs and burritos to funnel cakes and ice cream, there is something for every palate.

​Beer Garden

​Adults age 21 and over are invited to stop in and enjoy the beer garden on the Harvest Fest grounds to socialize with other adults while enjoying an ice cold beverage!  Three drink limit per person and a photo ID will be required to enter.
