Battle of the Bands
 

 The Battle of the Bands Competition will go ahead as scheduled in the Carpenter Park Amphitheater,
with the bands performing from 10:20 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

2017 Guidelines

Lyrics must...

Be free of inappropriate language

Not Promote drugs

Not Promote alcohol

Not Promote violence

n Event staff reserves the right to pull the band during their session if they feel the content of their music or actions are inappropriate.

n Must get your application, music and lyric submission entered by 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Your sample recording does not need to be professional quality. We will accept cassette tape, CD, DVD or YouTube video.

n    All participating band members will receive a free commemorative 2017 Battle of the Bands t-shirt with the name of all participating bands on the back. In order to have your band name on the t-shirt you must submit your application no later than 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.

n Ten bands will be selected to perform. They will be notified by Friday, April 28 .

n Each band will have a 20-minute set.  Set times are strictly enforced.

n All bands are responsible for stage set-up and tear-down.

n Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment and the event organizers cannot be held liable for any lost, damaged or stolen equipment.

n All band members must be age 21 or younger.

n The City of Thornton will provide a high-quality sound system which all bands will use.

n The City of Thornton will provide drums, bass rig, microphones, and backline which all bands will use.

n Pyrotechnics are not allowed.

n At least one member from each band must attend a pre-show meeting on Tuesday, May 16,  6-7 p.m.

n All band members must be at the amphitheater site at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their set.

n On the day of the event, all band members must be dressed in clothing free from obscenities, drugs, alcohol, sex or any other matter not suitable for a family event.

n Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on the site during the event.

n No more than 5% of music can be pre-recorded material. All bands must play live.

n Bands will be judged by a 3 member panel.

n All bands agree to have their name, voice and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without any compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
