Warrants
If you should fail to appear or fail to pay a fine, a warrant may be issued for your arrest. A warrant is a legal document ordered by a judge giving any law enforcement officer the authority to place you under arrest for not completing court orders. Once arrested, four things could happen...
-
You may be detained in any jail until the next court day;
-
You may be given an opportunity to post bond and be released. If you are arrested for failure to appear, you will need to post the amount of the bond, plus a non-refundable $25 processing fee. At that time, your warrant will be cleared and you will be given a return court date;
-
You may post a cash-only bond equal to the amount of fines and costs owed to the Court and be released;
-
Or, if you cannot pay the fine, you could spend time in jail to pay off the fine.
