Ward 3 Councilmember Rebecca Cavanaugh-Miller

Ward 3 Thornton City Council representative Rebecca Cavanaugh-Miller is serving her second term on Council. She is very proud to be a part of the positive changes Thornton has seen in the past four years. Looking forward to Thornton's future and the next four years, she sees many opportunities and challenges. The need to provide traffic congestion solutions, transportation, manage growth, bring good jobs, enhance quality of life and develop our economic tax base is very important. We strive to provide the levels of service that our citizens expect.

We strive to provide the levels of service that our citizens expect. A community that enables all to be active, independent and productive members of society--as well as a place where families can live work and play.

A resident of Thornton for 18 years, she has been very involved in the community, and is looking forward to serving the citizens of Ward III and the community at large. A native of Colorado, she grew up in Evergreen, graduated from Evergreen High School and attended CSU to study business.

She has been involved with many community groups:

A small business owner (cleaning business), she has operated for the past 13 years. She and her husband, Jim, have been married for 16 years. The couple has a unique perspective on life because they both survived an airplane crash together in 1994. They are both thankful for surviving, but Jim suffered spinal cord injuries in the crash and now needs a wheelchair for mobility.
