Matching Grants for Business

Businesses and property owners in the Original Thornton Urban Renewal Area are eligible to apply for Economic Development Incentive Grants - or EDIP for short - from the City to help improve their business.

 

Thornton Business Listings
The City of Thornton posts a searchable listing of Thornton Businesses on our web site.  The listings include the ability for Thornton business owners to provide extensive information about the nature of their business.

A listing is FREE to all businesses that are located in Thornton, but all listed businesses must have a current Business License.

Listing information including business description may be submitted online.

 

Thornton Business Briefs
The Thornton Business Briefs is a web-published summary of Thornton business news articles that is distributed every eight weeks. These articles can updates on development projects, success stories of local businesses, insights into Thornton's business environment and recent significant business transactions.

Story ideas can be submitted to business@cityofthornton.net. Please be sure to include a daytime phone number where we can reach you.

The Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau is registered in the State of Colorado as a business membership organization. The BBB's focus is on the middle ground between buyers and sellers: they work to create, support and maintain a safe, fair, thriving marketplace.

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is committed to protecting and preserving the health and environment of the people of Colorado.

Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade
The Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OED&IT) works with companies starting, expanding or relocating in Colorado. OED&IT offers a wide range of services to assist new and existing businesses of every size.

Environmental Protection Agency
The EPA's Small Business Assistance Program (SBAP) provides technical assistance to Colorado small business programs to help them meet the requirements of the 1990 Clean Air Act and other environmental issues such as water and waste.

Metro North Chamber of Commerce
The Metro North Chamber shapes the north area's economy, promotes community and business awareness and sets the standard for success.  The Chamber assists entrepreneurs, home based businesses or major companies.

Micro Business Development
Micro Business Development, a Colorado nonprofit organization, was founded in 1993 to eliminate barriers to economic independence for community entrepreneurs, both youth and adult, through access to markets, resources, and business capital.  These underserved populations include, but are not limited to youth, entrepreneurs with disabilities, refugees, women, non-native speakers and individuals facing the challenges of poverty.

Small Business Administration
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created by Congress in 1953 to help America's entrepreneurs form successful small enterprises. Today, SBA's program offices in every state offer financing, training and advocacy for small firms.

The Small Business Development Center
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is dedicated to helping small businesses throughout Colorado achieve their goals of growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity, management improvement and success.

Thornton businesses utilize the SBDC located on the campus of the Front Range Community College.

US Business Advisor
The U.S. Business Advisor was created by the Small Business Administration (SBA), the National Partnership for Reinventing Government (NPR), and an interagency task force to help U.S. businesses gain access to information and services from the government.
