 The Economic Development Incentive Program (EDIP) is a grant program funded by the City of Thornton to encourage small businesses in the Thornton Development Authority (TDA) area to upgrade their buildings and sites. This is one of several City economic development programs intended to retain existing businesses, encourage business expansion and promote new business development. The funds are used to reduce the cost of improvements to your building by providing direct assistance in the form of matching grants. | What is the purpose of the Program? | The purpose of the program is to enhance the appearance of Thornton's oldest and largest commercial district. A more attractive shopping district will serve to draw more customers to the area and improve the local economy and enhance the value of your real estate investment. | What improvements are covered? | Exterior building improvements such as building renovation, door and window upgrades, roofing, etc. Site Improvements such as landscaping, parking lot and sign improvements, etc. | How do I apply for EDIP funds? |
