FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13

Santa Arrives: 6:30 p.m.

Santa and his elves will arrive in the heart of Santa's Village on the Carpenter Park Fields, where they will assist the Mayor and City Council in turning on the Village's holiday lights.

Fun in Santa's Village: 6:30 - 9 p.m.

For the remainder of the evening, there will be a variety of fun winter activities:

  • Visit with Santa 6:45 - 8:30 p.m.
    Due to Santa's overwhelming schedule, the line will be cut-off early in order to adhere to the closing time.
  • Ice skating on the Village Pond 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. (nominal fee)
  • Entertainment by various local school choirs.
  • Ice-carving demonstration
  • North Pole Nibbles food vendors
  • Wonderland Woods tree voting
  • Beer Garden

 

Lisa Bell: 7:30 p.m. WinterFest Event Tent

Singer-songwriters Lisa Bell and Dennis Wanebo are joined by Bob Story on guitar, Chris Malley on bass and Jon Powers on drums to perform Holiday Classics.  Enjoy your favorite tunes of the season with unique arrangements and lush harmonies.  Their song selections and style are sure to please the entire family.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14

Breakfast with Santa at the Senior Center: 7:30 - 10:30 a.m
Please note: The breakfast will be held at the Thornton Senior Center, located at 9471 Dorothy Blvd. The breakfast is NOT held at the festival site.

Before heading to WinterFest, bring your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors to enjoy Breakfast with Santa. Breakfast will include pancakes, ham, eggs, orange juice and coffee. Sponsored by the 55+ Organization, the breakfast will cost $4 for adults and seniors and $2.50 for children 12 years and younger. Photos taken with Santa will be available for an additional $3 for each print or each emailed image file.  Questions? Please call 303-255-7850.

Fun in Santa's Village: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Holiday Marketplace: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

WinterFest Event Tent
During the day on Saturday, the Village's Event Tent will magically transform into the Village Holiday Bazaar which will feature a variety of vendors selling items perfect for your holiday gift-giving needs.


North Pole Nibbles: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

A variety of food vendors will be selling snacks and lunch or dinner items, including hot chocolate, hot cider, kettle corn, pizza, sandwiches and more!


TASHCO's Holiday Arts & Culture Corner

Friday: 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday: 5 - 9 p.m.
TASHCO's Holiday Arts and Culture Corner, is a great educational resource to identify how various cultures celebrate the winter holidays.  Included are photos, crafts and other icons from holiday traditions spanning the globe.

In the TASHCO tent there will also be holiday story telling as well as family puppet shows at the North Pole Puppet Theater next door.  Performances times will be posted outside the tent.

Village Ice-Skating Pond: 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The ice-skating pond will be open throughout the day and into the evening so come on down and give this fun activity a try! The rink requires the use of ice skates, which will be available at the skate shack, or you my bring your own.  The fee for ice skating will be $2 for children (12 and under) and seniors (60 and over) and $3 for adults.

Beer Garden: Noon - 9 p.m.

This venue is located in the large heated tent directly across from the North Pole Visitor's Center.  Stop on by and toast the holidays with family, neighbors and friends. There is a three beer limit and proper photo ID is required.

Wonderland Woods Community
Tree Decorating Contest

Businesses, schools and organizations will be decorating individual trees with their favorite holiday decorations.  The fee to enter is just $35 per tree for schools and organizations and $60 for business entries.  *Enter before November 26 and get $5 off! At the end of the festival you may take your tree home or donate it to an organization or individual!  Deadline to enter is Monday, December 5 at 5 p.m. For more information call 720-977-5914.

Ice-Carving Demonstrations: 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Professional ice-carving demonstrations will be provided throughout the day by members of "Dazzling Ice."  At approximately 6 p.m. the sculptors will be completing a frozen surprise that will provide a fun holiday photo opportunity. Don't forget to bring your cameras to capture this special WinterFest memory! 

Thornton Community Band Holiday Concert

Saturday, 7-8:30 p.m.

Reserved Seats $2
General Admission Free

Don't miss the Thornton Community Band, as they ring in the holidays with you at this year's WinterFest.  Compiled by members of the community, there will be tunes and faces that you are sure to recognize!

Reserved seat tickets ($2 each) will be available in advance at the Carpenter Recreation Center front desk beginning November 9.  Tickets will also be available at the WinterFest North Pole Visitors Center until 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, and at the door until 7 p.m.  The reserved ticket seating area will be in the front half of the tent and will be roped off until 15 minutes after the concert starts (7:15 p.m.), at which time ALL remaining seats will be available to general admission attendees at no charge.

Holiday Fireworks: 8:30 p.m.

Immediately following the Thornton community Band performance, the northwestern sky above Santa's Village will come to life with an awesome fireworks show choreographed to holiday music.

 

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15

This holiday concert will feature some of the most talented voices in the area along with performances by some local musicians. There will also be audience sing-a-longs and special surprises for the children!
