Thornton Fire Department to receive unique donation
Local company to donate oxygen masks suitable for pets
Pets being saved by oxygen masks

THORNTON, CO…On Thursday, December 29, Thornton Firefighters will become some of the best-equipped in the nation to save a pet’s life after a fire. That’s because Invisible Fence® of Evergreen will donate five pet oxygen mask kits to the fire department. These masks allow firefighters to give oxygen to pets suffering from smoke inhalation after they are rescued from fires. “We’ve seen residents run back into burning homes to save a pet, says Thornton Fire Deputy Fire Chief Leo Giuliano. “These masks will give people peace of mind knowing that we can save their pets if they are suffering from smoke inhalation.”

The donation takes place Thursday, December 29, at 9 a.m. at Thornton Fire Station 4, 1400 E. 128th Ave., Thornton. “We realize that humans are the first-priority, but in many cases, pets can be saved if firefighters have the right equipment,” said Terry Weltzer, owner of Invisible Fence® of Evergreen. “
