Thornton provides curbside trash and recycling collection to over 26,625 homes, as well as a number of other collection services for our citizens. The collection service operates as an enterprise fund — meaning that all costs are covered by user fees.

Labor Day Holiday Delay

Trash and recycling collection service will be on a one day holiday delay in observance of the Labor Day Holiday, beginning Monday, September 1, 2014.  If your normal trash/recycle pickup day is Monday it will be picked up on Tuesday.  If your normal trash/recycle day is Tuesday it will be picked up on Wednesday and so forth through the week.

City trash/recycle service will return to normal pickup schedule on Monday, September 8, 2012.

Looking for your
Recycl
e Collection Schedule?

REMINDER:  Recycling is a twice a month service for City trash customers, not every other week.  For example: if your recycle collection schedule is every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, and there are 5 Fridays in August, your recycle will not be collected on the 29th.

To have your recycle pick up schedule sent electronically, please email your physical home address to environmentalsvcs@cityofthornton.net with
RECYCLE CALENDAR REQUEST in the subject line.

Or, click here to locate your home address on a map with recycle schedules.
