Holiday Meals

One can get a wonderful meal every weekday at the Thornton Senior Center, but we make holidays extra special. We pull out the white linens and decorate for just about any reason during any season! Holiday meals are slightly higher than everyday lunch prices. For Thanksgiving and Christmas, we offer our special meal on two different days to accommodate more seniors. Often entertainment is provided for your enjoyment as well. Our holiday meals are for seniors age 55 and older.

Sunset Suppers

Once a quarter we offer special evening meals with entertainment we call Sunset Suppers. The menu may vary from roast pork, baked chicken or roast beef, with all the fixings, and is specially prepared by our own kitchen staff. After dinner, we provide quality entertainment for your enjoyment. In the past we have heard from the Colorado Children’s Chorale, the CU Alumni Hand Bell Choir, Panjumbies and more to name a few examples.

Sunset Suppers are served at 6 p.m. The cost for the meal and entertainment is $4.25 for residents of Thornton and $4.75 for non-residents, and $5.50 for non-senior residents and $6.50 for non-senior non-residents. Quarterly Birthday Parties

Birthdays are a great reason to have a party! We celebrate each quarter by serving birthday cake, donated by The Villas at Sunny Acres, and by enjoying entertainment as well. Everyone is welcome to join us in the celebration, regardless if they have a birthday during that quarter.

Lunch is served at 12 noon, and birthday entertainment following at 12:30 p.m. Lunch fees for residents are $3.25 and $3.75 for non-residents. Please sign up by 4 p.m. the day before to make your lunch reservations.
