Residency Qualifications
In order to qualify for resident rates, all individuals 6 years & older will be required to have a current Resident Recreation ID card. These cards may be purchased at Thornton recreational facilities for $5.00 each and they are valid for two years.
Who Qualifies for a Resident Recreation ID Card?
Any person owning taxable real estate or personal property within Thornton boundaries. Any person permanently residing within the City of Thornton, but who may not own property therein.
What is needed for Proof of Residency?
A current valid Colorado driver's license or Colorado identification card with a current Thornton address OR a current photo ID and two of the following items...
- City of Thornton utility bill
- Car registration
- Voter registration card
- Statement from a major creditor
- Recent Adams County tax notice
- Rental Contract
How old must I be to purchase my own ID?
A minor (17 and younger) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when purchasing a Recreation ID card. The adult must meet the residency requirements of the minor.
Parents, for your convenience, you may purchase Recreation ID Cards at the Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center Mon.- Fri. 5:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., Sat. 7:30 a.m.. - 7 p.m. and Sun. 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
