The 78,780 square foot Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center is located on 136 acres of property the City owns at 112th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. The City chose this site because of its central location and easy accessibility.
The aquatics area consists of two leisure pools that includes a wave function, lap swimming, raindrop, lazy river, diving board, waterslide and vortex pool.
The whirlpool, steam room and sauna are located on the pool deck; all are co-ed.
The weight and fitness equipment is provided for anyone 16 years and older. Those between 13 and 15 years of age must complete a youth orientation. The conditioning center is open during all gerneral operating hours of the facility and is divided into three seperate areas: Free weights, circuit machines and cardiovascular equipment.
A large hardwood floor capable of being divided into three small courts for volleyball and/or basketball or one full-court basketball.
This area is designated for permanent multi-station gymnastic equipment and floor exercise area for program use.
Three racquetball courts with Wallyball capability.
The track has a soft, synthetic surface for running or walking; 12 laps = 1 mile.
Two separate rooms adjoined by a common bathroom designated for programmed classes and drop-in baby-sitting for facility guests.
A resilient wood floor, internal sound system, dance bars and mirrors for fitness and dance classes.
Family Locker Rooms
Features two private changing areas with showers to accommodate families/parents with small children and the physically challenged.
A large meeting/activity room with a catering kitchen, small stage, terrace with mountain view and the capability of being divided into three smaller private rooms.
