Poplar borer - Aspen trees - Forestry staff has discovered this pest problem in isolated areas within the City. This pest bores into the trunk of aspen trees, creating a discharge of liquid that stains the bark orange/dark brown. Sawdust is visible at the base of the trees affected. Treatment of insecticide applied to the trunk are somewhat successful during the months of July and August.
