Construction has begun on the City's first disc golf course, a recreational course that will be free and open to the public.  The 18-hole course includes the Front Nine located at Springvale Park (Ivy Street @ Holly Street) and the Back Nine located at Marshall Lake/Riverdale Parks (133rd Avenue and Locust Street).  Designed by John Bird of Birdie Disc Golf, the course works around the existing park amenities and topography to minimize conflicts with park users.  Construction of the project is scheduled to be completed in summer 2012.
