Thornton’s Public Art
Thornton is proud of the city’s growing collection of public art: "Works of art or design that are created specifically to be sited in a public space."
By its presence alone, public art heightens our awareness, questions our assumptions, transforms landscapes, and expresses our community’s values.
We have sculptures that invite you to look high above you or that call attention to the pavement beneath your feet. We have both whimsical and serious sculpture pieces, murals, a mosaic, and a student art tile wall.
We encourage you to take a closer look at the art in Thornton and invite you to let us know the thoughts and feelings it evokes.
