Experiencing Cultures from Around the World!
Cultural Diversity Month gives community members the opportunity to "travel" to foreign lands without leaving the comfort of Thornton.
This program exposes participants to diverse cultures through the exploration of music, dance, food, traditions, customs, and geography.
Formerly known as Hispanic Heritage Week, Cultural Diversity Month now focuses on four different cultures each year.
This year, participants “journeyed” to the exciting lands of Honduras, Egypt, Russia, and Laos.
Past activities have included crafting, dance presentations, cooking lessons, art exhibits, storytelling, and the sampling of lots of free food!
“Celebrating Cultural Diversity Month” is made possible by SCFD, TASHCO, and the City of Thornton.
