Neighborhood events are a great way to meet your neighbors and create the neighborhood that you and your neighbors desire. Neighborhood Services can help. We can provide information and materials for your block party, neighborhood garage sale or cleanup event.
To get started, just fill out a Meet The Neighbors application and send it in to Neighborhood Services. We'll provide you with a free kit that includes material to help you organize and run your neighborhood event. Typical neighborhood events range in size from five to 15 homes.
You can also borrow safety vests, gloves and traffic cones through Neighborhood Services. Please call 303-538-7600 or email neighbor@cityofthornton.net.
Permit Applications
Blocking off a Street (Traffic Control Permit)
Permits to block off a private street within a subdivision must be turned in to the Traffic Engineering and Operations Division. Public streets cannot be closed to traffic. Remember to allow time for permit processing and approvals. Visit the Traffic Engineering webpage or call 720-977-6464.
Alcohol Permit
Alcohol permits are turned in to the City Clerk's office. Visit the City Clerk's Office webpage or call 303-538-7215.
Sound at Events
The City does not allow amplified sound in residential neighborhoods. As a courtesy to your neighbors, please keep the sound to a minimum after 9:00 p.m.
