South Thornton Revitalization Area Health Impact Assessment (HIA)
A Health Impact Assessment (HIA) was conducted by the City and nonprofit consultant Community Enterprise to identify opportunities for healthy eating and active living in the South Thornton Revitalization Subarea. The HIA report, which contains the HIA findings and consultant recommendations, was accepted by resolution on April 10, 2012.

Thornton Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report
Curious about Thornton's carbon footprint? In July 2009, the City partnered with the University of Colorado at Denver to conduct a Greenhouse Gas Inventory based on 2008 data. The findings were compiled in this April 2010 report.
Green Building and Design Practices
The City encourages developers and builders to use sustainable and green practices through all phases of site planning and building design for the purpose of reducing energy consumption, waste, natural resource use, and overall building impacts on human health and the environment.
