City Council recently approved amendments to the City’s sign regulations. Some of these changes include:
- Reorganizing the regulations based on sign structure
- Renaming some sign types
- Incorporating additional signage types, such as cylinder signs, multi-tenant identification signs, projecting signs, under-canopy signs, and drive-in signs
- Increasing the allowed sign area and/or number of signs for some sign types, such as drive-through signs, and commercial center signage
- Modified the allowances for special event signage on nonresidential properties
- Incorporating alternatives for new technologies, such as electronic changeable copy signs
- Relocating the requirements for signs on public property, including the rights-of-way, to Chapter 70 of the City Code
- Amending and adding definitions
