Beth is a Colorado native who grew up in Fort Collins. She went to college and graduate school at Colorado State University. She has lived in Thornton since 1997 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a Masters in Communication Management. For Thornton, this translates into a community where good paying jobs are plentiful, public services, such as fire and police, are well funded and city council as well as the city staff, work in partnership with its businesses, citizens, chambers, Metro area cities, Colorado communities statewide, and municipalities nationwide.

Community service is very important to Beth and she served as a resident representative on the Central subarea committee to review Thornton's adopted Comprehensive Plan.  She is the Denver Regional Council of Governments City Alternate, the Colorado Municipal League Representative for Thornton, serves on the National League of Cities Information/Technology Steering Committee and is a Colorado Women in Government Board member.  She has served on the District 27J Capital Finance Foundation Board, as a board member at large/community liaison for cities concerns on the League of Women Voters of Adams County, is a Commissioner on the Thornton Development Authority, is a member of the Thornton Police Citizens Academy Alumni Association, attends District 12 Hispanic Advisory Council meetings, serves on the Holly Point HOA ARC Committee,  is a Thornton Leadership class alumni, a Whitehouse Project alumni and was a former Vice Chair of Thornton's past Planning Commission. She is involved in a variety of professional organizations, engages in continued education for professional growth as well as leadership development, and volunteers time or assistance to a variety of charitable organizations.

Beth welcomes questions, ideas, suggestions or comments from residents, businesses as well as community groups and is happy to help those that may want to know more about Thornton.  She takes great pride in serving Ward 3 and all of Thornton’s residents.  Beth is passionate about the City and about making good policy decisions for Thornton that will allow for successful sustainability that future generations will enjoy.  Please feel free to contact Councilmember Beth Humenik at any time.  She can be reached at:
