Want to save water outdoors and have a beautiful landscape? You can! Topics include planning, improving the soil, creating practical turf areas, efficient irrigation, selecting appropriate plants and grouping plants with similar water needs, mulching and overall good horticultural practices.

Carl Wilson, long-time horticulturist, freelance speaker, author and plant consultant will focus on the seven principles of water-wise landscaping and how to incorporate these principles into a home landscape. Plan some time before or after the class to tour the Water-Wise Garden at Fire Station 5.

Each participant in the class will receive a free Thornton water conservation kit. There will also be a drawing for a water-saving product donated by The Home Depot.
