We're Havin' a Thorntonanny!
What the heck is a Thorntonanny? It is our version of a hootenanny.
What the heck is a hootenanny? A hootenanny is a gathering of folk musicians who come together to share their talents with the audience and their fellow musicians. The hootenanny has arguable origins. They became most popular during the folk music revival of the 1960s, when artists would gather in the West Village of New York City to share their songs. These days, most hootenannies are referred to as open mic nights, bluegrass jams, song swaps or song circles. If you've seen MTV's Unplugged, you've seen the modern evolution of a hootenanny.
Whether you're a solo, a duet or a group, grab your guitar, banjo, dulcimer, fiddle, mandolin, ukulele, bongos or whatever else you pluck, pound or play and come to the Thorntonanny! Call 720-977-5882 to register for a spot to perform. You can also just come and listen to some great music!
