4. Sealed Bid Proposals for construction of the "120th Avenue Widening, Holly Street to Quebec Street, Thornton Project No. 04-419, CDOT Project No. STU M286-015" will be received in the Contracts and Purchasing Office at the Thornton City Hall (2nd floor), 9500 Civic Center Drive, until 2:00 p.m., December 9, 2008. At that time, Bid Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Project Description: The Project consists of the widening of the existing two-lane roadway to a four through-lane facility, with a center turn lane. The Work includes asphalt removal, landscape restoration, concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, concrete paving, asphalt paving and patching, signal installation, pavement markings, traffic control, and miscellaneous items necessary to complete the Work. The Engineer’s Estimate for construction is approximately three million four hundred thousand dollars ($3,400,000). CDOT has determined that Underutilized Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (UDBE) will participate by contracting for a part of the work of this Contract. The contract goal for participation in this Contract by certified UDBEs has been established at ten percent (10%).
Contractors interested in Bidding this Project must be pre-qualified with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). Copies of CDOT’s pre-qualified Contractor list can be obtained at www.dot.state.co.us/Bidding/listings.html.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held in the Community Room No. 130, at the Thornton Infrastructure Maintenance Center, 12450 Washington Street, Thornton, CO 80241, at 10:00 a.m., December 2, 2008. All Prospective Bidders are encouraged to attend.
