Capital Projects

Following are some of the projects made possible from the Parks and Open Space Tax and Bond revenues.

  • Installation of pavilions in parks and benches along trails throughout the City.
  • 1 acre park at the Mountain View Church at the intersection of Fir and Russell.
  • 3 acre park and ball field at the North Huron Church at 96th and Huron.
  • 5 acre park along Grange Creek in the area of K-Mart on 104th.
  • 25 acre sports complex south of 104th at McKay providing multiple fields for football, soccer and baseball.
  • 100 acre open space preserve around the Eastlake 3 Reservoir south of 128th between York and Colorado.
  • 60 acre open space preserve in the undeveloped area at the northwest corner of 88th and I-25.
  • 20 acre park in the area of the lake north of the Civic Center and east of I-25.
  • Two fishing facilities at the City’s existing reservoirs along the South Platte River.
  • Trail improvements along Grange Creek including an underpass at Colorado Boulevard.
  • Trail improvements along the Brantner Gulch.
  • Trail improvements along the Signal Ditch.
  • Trail improvements along the Big Dry Creek Corridor including an underpass at I-25.
  • 1 acre park at the intersection of Croke and Huron.

Total Cost of Projects: approximately $16 million
