Online Sales Tax Form Continues to Improve
Those city merchants filing Sales and Use taxes with the City of Thornton know that there have been ongoing improvements with the way they can do business with the City. Now we have revamped the Sales and Use Tax area of our Web site to include true online filing and paying of City taxes. This replaces the former online PDF form/email interface.
"We are continually exploring ideas to make the compliance process more efficient and convenient for taxpayers. Online filing provides added convenience for our taxpayers and improves internal efficiencies for Finance. Saving postage costs and encouraging green practices by eliminating the need for paper and envelopes are added benefits to filing online," said Finance Director David Boyd.
The new system allows sales tax payments to be filed if they are on-time. If businesses owe tax, their bank account will be debited within five business days of the tax return's due date.
The City’s Web site also features other business and consumer sales tax related information. For more information, visit the Thornton Tax homepage, or call 303-538-7400.
