Street Closures for Democratic Convention
The Democratic National Convention kicks off in Denver on Monday, Aug. 25. Even if you’re not attending the Convention, there will be aspects of the gathering that could mean some added time and effort for you.
Traffic in and around the downtown area is expected to be heavy throughout the week, and there are some street closures you should know about, including a major closure on Aug. 28, when I-25 will be closed from late afternoon through the evening.

Invesco Field at Mile High
Parades: 11a.m. to 3p.m. The parades will start at Mariposa St., just north of 12th Ave., going north to Colfax Ave., then west on Colfax Ave. to Federal Blvd. Mariposa St. and Colfax Ave. will be closed during these times. Barack Obama’s Acceptance Speech: Thursday, Aug. 28
Invesco Field at Mile High
At about 5 p.m., CDoT will close I-25 from 6th Ave. north to I-70 until events at Invesco Field are finished. Ticket-holders for the speech will also start making their way to Invesco at 5 p.m., so the area will see heavier than usual traffic.
