Labor Day Holiday closures and delays

Thornton Recreation facilities to close for annual maintenance

THORNTON, CO…City of Thornton offices and the Thornton Senior Center will be closed on Monday, September 1 to observe the Labor Day Holiday.  City offices will reopen for normal business hours Tuesday, September 2.

There will be on a one day trash/recycle collection delay for City of Thornton trash customers for the Labor Day holiday.  There will be no trash/recycle collected on Monday, September 1. Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday, September 2 and so on with Friday routes collected on Saturday, September 6. Normal collection schedule will resume on September 8. Again, this holiday delay affects City of Thornton trash/recycle customers only.

The Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center will be closed for annual maintenance starting August 23 and will reopen on September 2 at 5:30 a.m. The pool area and locker rooms will be closed August 16 – September 1. The Thornton Community Center will be closed for annual maintenance starting September 2 and will reopen on Monday, September 8 at 6 a.m. Thornton’s Senior Center will be closed August 25-27 for annual maintenance. It will be open only for senior meals from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
