Thornton Fire to ‘fight’ breast cancer
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month
THORNTON, CO…The Thornton Fire Department goes pink this month in an effort to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer. For all of October the Department will sell pink breast cancer awareness bracelets for $5 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation. Bracelets will be available from Fire Administration, City Hall, 9500 Civic Center Drive, 3rd Floor, during business hours. The initial purchase of 200 was donated by the Thornton Professional Firefighters Local 2376.
On October 25-27, Thornton Firefighters will be shrouding their badges with a pink ribbon to honor those that have lost their fight to breast cancer, show support for the survivors, and stand with the family and friends who have been affected. Thornton fire apparatus will also display magnetic pink ribbons.
