Thornton hosts 2008 Grandparents Raising
Grandchildren & Kinship Care Providers Conference

THORNTON, CO…The City of Thornton hosts 2008 Grandparents Raising Grandchildren & Kinship Providers Conference on Saturday, October 18, from 9 am. - 3 p.m., at the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center, 11151 Colorado Blvd. 

Topics will include:

• legal issues
• challenging behavior with children
• resources for grandparents
• taking care of your health

Along with the workshops there will be featured speakers, and information about community resources.

The cost of the conference is $5 for adults/$3 for children and includes breakfast, lunch and limited childcare. Pre-registration is required. Conference sponsors include the City of Thornton, CSU Extension, Families First, the City of Brighton, Catholic Charities, and Family Tree.
