Household Chemical Roundups

Back to Disposal

The City of Thornton — in cooperation with Adams County and the cities of Commerce City, Federal Heights, Northglenn, and Brighton — will conduct several Hazardous Chemical Roundup events in 2008.


Event Schedule

  • Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Water World (88th Avenue and Pecos Street)
  • Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Adams County Fairgrounds (124th Avenue and Riverdale Road)
  • Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Thornton Super K-Mart (104th Avenue and Marion Street)

All the events are open to Adams County residents, and will be open from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please bring a driver's license, utility bill, or phone bill to verify a county address.

What We Can and Cannot Accept

We will accept... House and Garden Chemicals, Paint Products, Automotive Fluids, Vehicle Batteries, Fuels, Mercury, Propane Tanks (20 lbs. or less), and Tires ($1/Tire). The June 28, 2008 event will also accept electronic waste.

We will not accept... Medical Waste, Business Waste, Radioactive Waste, Explosive Waste, Asbestos Waste, Compressed Gasses, or Drummed Waste.
